language that’s foreign to you, it can be overwhelming, and it can be frightening, but if you really think about it, what’s the worst thing that can happen?

It’s really important to overcome these fears because public speaking’s going to be important in all aspects of your life, especially professionally.

Surveys say that a lot of employers rate public speaking as one of the biggest skills that they’re looking for when they’re screening employees. Not only is public speaking important when you’re actually speaking in a group, it can also help you with things like learning one-on-one communication, skills that could transfer very well to things like job interviews.

One thing to keep in mind when giving a speech is that you should not expect to be perfect. Your audience wants you to succeed, but they don’t expect perfection, so don’t expect it of yourself.
