Beautiful Christmas Lights

I came here with two young boys and naturally I wanted to do something for the holidays, so we started decorating for Christmas and it’s been year after year and now it’s been about twenty-five years now we’ve been decorating here. And it’s been a project every year…..

Well, the main thing is you just start accumulating stuff and each year you have more stuff to put in. And the biggest problem, of course, is your electrical connections. You can’t put too much on one cord and you have to diversify it so that you don’t burn your circuit breakers out or burn the cords up. It’s been, it’s been a trying thing, but it’s been a fun… We wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t fun.

The arbor was there, so I decorate the arbors. And I try to put flashing lights on to get the attention. And then all my that I hang my plants from I hang decorations from after I take the plants all down. So I use timers that come up. Well, they’re eye sensors and when it gets dark, they come on automatically. So I have to run out here and turn them on. But as you can see, they’re pretty diversified from one cord to the next and each one, there’s about three cords going into them. But that way it’s not too much on one cord and I don’t have any problem with anything burning out.

We sit out here in the summertime, but I still decorate it even though they can’t see it and put lights on it. I put kind of screens to give some sort of a borderline to the property. So I decorate that.

The little girl in the center with the Hula Hoop™ has been there for years and I just put some lights around her and a star in the front of her to give her some attention. On the fence I put flashing snowflakes again with a garland and they too go through a series of sequences that really bring a lot of attention to the property. You can’t help but drive down the street and turn your head and look at it. Over there I put all white lights on all the bushes with snowflakes again on the fountain and additional lights. And then on the porch I put, again, snowflakes and additional lighting. And around the roof I put it’s, actually, it’s all white lights and they go through a series of sequences and then they turn blue and go through the same sequence. And the wreath up top lights up. It’s all whi… all blue, solid blue. And the only thing I added, the one thing, the one of two things I added this year was a peacock in the center there because it caught my attention. I thought it would look a little different.
